Reagan had been a Marine, then decided to try his hand in civilian life. He was doing well, but began to miss being in the Marines. The longer he was out, the more he began to feel guilty, as if he had not fulfilled his duty. He decided to reenlist just a few months before 9/11. The combat stress he went through in Iraq took a toll on him.
